MACS Collection of Microorganisms (MCM)
MCM is expeditiously enriching its collection with authenticated microorganisms through its own research on isolation and identification of microorganisms from unique ecosystems. Additionally, we procure reference strains from other researchers, as well as accept deposits from researchers across the world. All information gathered during the authentication and characterization process is digitized and regularly added into the database.
As of the latest database update, the collection has nearly one thousand deposits of archaea, bacteria, anaerobic fungi and consortia that are categorized into the following categories:
- General Category 1 (GC1, available for research at a premium rate),
- General Category 2 (GC2, available for research at a regular rate), and
- Safe Deposits (neither available for supply nor listed in the online catalogue).
A limited set of parameters are made available for you below to search and order the desired microorganism from our collection. You may search using the organisms’ taxonomic designation, MCM accession number, special feature/property, source of isolation or simply browse the entire catalogue.
DISCLAIMER: The database of MCM resources does not guarantee an up-to-date nomenclature of the microorganism, for which the user is advised to check the LPSN website or in IJSEM.
